Learn How to Drive a Minibus!
|
Many teachers and outdoor activity instructors will be asked to
drive minibuses as part of their work. |
|
|
Unfortunately all drivers who passed the car driving
test after January 1997 can, legally, only drive small
minibuses and cannot do so as part of their paid
employment. In order to drive a larger minibus as part
of their work drivers must pass the D1PCV Driving Test.
|
Why should you learn to drive a minibus now?
-
With education
budgets being slashed many schools and colleges
cannot afford to train their staff to drive
minibuses.
-
Arriving for
interview with the D1 PCV licence will make you more
attractive to your prospective employer.
-
As soon as you
start work you will be able to take your students on
field trips, sports events and other outdoor
activities.
|
What do you have to do?
-
You must be at least 21 years old and hold a full car
licence.
- You
need to pass a vocational medical, apply for a provisional
D1 licence, pass a theory test and a hazard perception test
and train for and pass the practical test.

and we will guide you
through the complete process.
|
Will it cost a lot?
-
The complete
process including medical, theory and hazard
perception tests and practical training and test can
be achieved for less than £1000.
-
It’s always worth
asking your new employer if they would contribute
towards the cost of your training.
|
How long will it take?
-
Passing the
medical, theory and hazard perception tests is
dependant on your personal motivation but should not
take more than a few weeks.
-
The practical
training and test is normally a four day course.
